Appreciation of Diamond Pestle
Vajra, or “Dorje” in Tibetan, was originally an ancient Indian weapon that could break through all kinds of materials because of its strong texture, hence the name Vajra. In Tantric Buddhism, the pestle symbolizes invincible wisdom and true Buddha nature, which can break all kinds of worries and destroy all kinds of demons that hinder the practice of Buddhism. All the Vajradhara Vaisnavas in the Mandala Kaitai hold the Vajra. It is often carried by practitioners of the Vajrayana, as a symbol of the Vajra wisdom of the Buddha, and is used to break the demons within and outside the mind.
